NOSFERATU are a collective ensemble formed in 2000 by David Price (percussion), Finn Peters (Sax, Flutes), Ivo de Greef (Piano) and Joe Cutler (Conductor/Sound Projection).

NOSFERATU seek to present the freshest faces of contemporary music within a broad, eclectic aesthetic whilst forging links with the visual arts, theatre and dance. The group were launched at this year's Oxford Contemporary Music Festival (May 2000) with a programme that combined driving rhythmic energy with still, contemplative work such as that of the Polish composer Tomasz Sikorski. Featuring works by British, Irish, American, Korean, Dutch and Polish composers, the group's performance from Oxford was broadcast to critical acclaim on June 30th on BBC Radio 3's new music programme "Hear and Now".

In December, NOSFERATU will perform at the Carnatic Lab in Amsterdam whilst in February 2002, the group will perform a programme of British, Dutch and Japanese works at the Warehouse, London including a number of World, UK and London premieres. In January, NOSFERATU will begin a short residence at the Birmingham Conservatoire where they will give concerts, workshops and will be working with the composition students. Future plans include a UK and Netherlands tour in conjunction with the Netherlands-based Ensemble de Ereprijs.

NOSFERATU can perform as a trio (with added sound projection) or may be extended to include additional instruments. The group's additional members include virtuoso pianist Jonathanpowell and Ensemble Modern violinist Darragh Morgan
